We have two curriculums available that will enable your classes to learn 3D printing. We have the CAD design curriculum and our newly-released coding curriculum centered on designing models through scratch code blocks.
These lessons are all you need to start teaching 3D Printing to your classes. All the lessons available will enable your students to become confident in 3D Printing. From the theory of how 3D Printers work, to CAD design and coding challenges with end of module assessments, these lesson resources will prepare your students for the world of 3D Printing. All these lessons have been written by current teachers and have been tried and tested in the classroom.
CAD Design Curriculum
These lessons are based around designing in CAD (computer aided design). The beginners lessons use TinkerCAD, an easy to use free 3D modeling software. The intermediate, advanced, and expert lessons use Fusion 360 which is again free to use. Both are cloud-based with TinkerCAD with used in a web browser and Fusion 360 used by downloading cloud-based software. We also have an Onshape version of the curriculum for schools that want to teach solely in a browser without having to download any software.
These lessons are based around designing using Scratch code blocks. Scratch is the number one way to teach coding in classrooms around the world. The Beginner's Coding for Kids curriculum teaches children how to design models for 3D printing using TinkerCAD code blocks which uses scratch 3.0.
