Curriculum update – New advanced lesson added.

With the constant demand for more content from teachers we have expanded the curriculum even more with another Fusion360 lesson in our advanced lesson pack. The lesson builds upon all the CAD skills learnt so far as part of the curriculum and teaches students how to design their own smart phone case that they can customise.
The one thing that all students have is smart phones and what better way to engage them in their learning than to teach them to design their own case. Mass personalisation is the future of consumerism and the lesson will allow students to design their own case regardless of the phone they have.
The technique used in the lesson is one that can be used for any phone. All that the student needs to do is find out the sizes of their own phone and then apply these sizes to the lesson tutorial. As with all the lessons there is a step by step teaching powerpoint, video tutorials, homework task with answer sheet, a lesson plan and example STL files. The lesson is designed for one hour, however it could easily be spread over two lesson depending on the pace of the students.
The outcomes are easy to print and can be 3d printed in around 1 hour and 30 minutes, allowing for a quick print time and relatively cheap project to run with a class of 15 – 20 students. With the lesson including easy to follow video tutorials allows for students to watch them at their own pace and encourages independent learning. The tutorial also take the stress away from the teacher having to do live demonstrations whilst supervising the class.
This lesson can be purchased as part of the Advanced lesson pack or as part of the ‘Whole Curriculum Bundle’ that includes all 21 lessons with over 190 resources that are ready planned for the classroom, designed by teachers.
