Looking to learn the basics of Fusion 360? Register for our live learning sessions (available on to watch on replay). Fusion 360 is one of the most widely used CAD programmes in the world and is FREE for educational use. It’s used in schools globally and we have based our 3D printing curriculum around it.
As part of the current COVID 19 pandemic, are in the final few sessions of our ‘3D printing live’ online learning webinars and are focusing on Fusion 360. With children and teachers learning remotely we are offering FREE online 3D printing classes for anyone who wants to learn about 3D printing and how to design models. There are 10 tutorials and we have just completed the first Fusion 360 session last week.
In the session, we demonstrated how to created basic models from 2d sketches. Skills covered included, sketching, extruding, adding fillets and chamfers, projections sketches, adding workplanes, cut aways, push/pull, copying components and creating patterns.
We went through how to model a basic storage unit for 3D printing consumables that is easy to print, requiring no supports.
Also in the session, we discussed hints and tips for 3D printing, including how to unblock a nozzle and the innovative nozzle features on the Flashforge Aventurer 3.
We have three more sessions left on Fusion 360 before we come to the end of our 10 week series of ‘3D printing live’ learning from home.
