Teaching requirements

To get the most from this module, it is recommended that teachers have a basic understanding of coding principles prior to delivery. However, the structured lesson format and supporting resources make the content accessible and easy to follow.

Learn Python Curriculum (Ages 14+)

The Learn Python Curriculum is a classroom-ready coding programme designed for students aged 14 and above, helping them build confidence and competence in Python programming through a clear, structured approach.

This 9-lesson curriculum introduces key Python concepts step by step, making coding accessible, engaging, and easy to teach, even for students with no prior experience.

Students begin with the fundamentals, learning how to use print statements, variables, and data types to create simple programs. They then progress to working with strings and user input, allowing them to build interactive programs. As confidence grows, students explore Python maths, applying logic and calculations to solve problems and develop more complex code.

The curriculum also introduces selection (if/else statements), enabling students to write programs that make decisions, before moving on to loops and iteration — essential skills for writing efficient, repeatable code.

Each lesson is carefully structured to support a gradual learning curve, with clear explanations, practical tasks, and opportunities for independent problem-solving.
