Coding for Kids: 3D Printing Curriculum (Ages 11+)
The Coding for Kids: 3D Printing Curriculum combines introductory coding skills with hands-on 3D printing, helping students understand both how 3D printers work and how to create models using TinkerCAD Codeblocks (Scratch-based and free to use).
Across 7 structured lessons, students learn the basics of 3D printing, where it’s used in society, and the benefits it offers, before progressing to coding 3D models using a visual, block-based programming approach. The curriculum starts at complete beginner level and gradually builds towards a coding design challenge, where students apply their skills independently.
All modelling work is cloud-based, allowing students to access their projects both in school and at home.
